2008 represents the 30th
year of the Society for Stimulus Properties of Drugs. SSPD was founded
in 1978 by Don Overton, Herb Barry, and John Rosecrans and others with
the first official meeting of the new society being held at the meeting
of the Committee for Problems on Drug Dependence (CPDD) in Baltimore
that year. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of SSPD a
one day meeting is planned for this fall in Washington, D.C. The
meeting will be held as a satellite meeting of the Society for
Neuroscience meeting as has been the tradition for a number of years.
There will be an evening meeting on
Friday, November 14th beginning at 5 pm. This is the
night before the Neuroscience meeting starts. In addition, a special
issue of Psychopharmacology on the Stimulus Properties of Drugs
is being planned to coincide with this celebration.
Please mark your calendar and reserve
the date!
This meeting is open to all
investigators and students interested in the stimulus properties of
drugs.
