POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS IN SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT (2 POSITIONS).
Minorities are encouraged to apply. Competitive stipends. 2-3 year appointments. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

  • Position #1: Research fellowship position in a stimulating and productive clinic / lab. Participate in the development, conduct, and publication of studies on behavioral treatments for cocaine dependence. Participation in laboratory studies examining factors influencing human drug self-administration is also possible.   • Position #2: Research fellowship in substance abuse treatment in a stimulating and productive clinic. Responsibilities include conducting studies on behavioral and pharmacological treatment of heroin dependence. Successful applicant may also be involved in development of innovative treatment based on behavioral economics. DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOLOGY, LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER IN NEW ORLEANS.
A post-doctoral position is available to conduct studies on the behavioral, immunologic and physiologic effects of opioids and benzodiazepines and, in particular, to assess the effects of novel compounds in subjects that are dependent on prototypic drugs in each of these pharmacological classes. Procedures include drug discrimination, self-administration, antinociception, ventilation, learning and memory. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in pharmacology, psychology, neuroscience or related field. The position is available immediately and appointment is for one year, renewable for up to three years.
